Superintendent Rose Mary Mares

A product of the Hondo community, Mrs. Mares began her career in education at Hondo High School in 1987.  She moved to school administration as Associate Principal at Pearsall High School in 2000 and Principal at Lytle High School in 2002.  She returned home in 2008 serving as Assistant Superintendent for 15 years before being named Superintendent in April 2023.

Mrs. Mares serves on various boards and committees in the community.  She has been married to her husband Ysidro for 34 years.
