Career Opportunities

Due to the implementation of Senate Bill 9, also known as the "Fingerprinting Bill", which was passed by the 80th Legislature, school districts are required to obtain state and national criminal history background searches on all new employees who will have direct contact with students. SB9 authorizes and requires that criminal history information reviews be conducted for all educators and school employees, including all certified and currently employed educators, as well as all substitute teachers, school employees, and all non-certified school employees hired after January 1, 2008.

The District will facilitate fingerprinting of all new employees.  Applicants will be issued a "FAST" (Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse of Texas) Fingerprint Pass issued by TEA and will go to authorized facility for fingerprinting.  The cost to the candidate for fingerprinting is approximately $50 and is not reimbursable by the District.  Along with the fee, the candidate will be required to provide a valid ID at the time of fingerprinting.

To be considered for any open position, candidates must complete an on-line application and submit thru the Talent Ed portal to the Hondo ISD Central Office.
