Volunteer at School

The Hondo Independent School District is excited that you are interested in volunteering!  It is the work of individuals like you that has helped make Hondo ISD so successful.

Hondo ISD seeks to create a safe sanctuary for all students, free from crime, violence, drugs and abuse. Pursuant to the Texas Education Code the Hondo Independent School District conducts screenings for any record of criminal history. The district shall obtain the criminal history record of prospective volunteers who will be working with students, including, but not limited to mentors, tutors, field trip sponsors, overnight trip sponsors, any volunteers who will have access to student information, and volunteers who have direct contact with students.

To be considered eligible to volunteer, all individuals must complete the Volunteer Application, the Volunteer Agreement, and the Volunteer Criminal History Record Authorization.  Failure to pass the criminal history record check may disqualify you to serve as a volunteer in the District.

Thank you for giving your time to support and enrich our schools and students!

All volunteers must read the Volunteer Handbook and must complete the following documents before the District will approve volunteer services:

1. Agreement For Volunteers,
2. DPS Computerized Criminal History (CCH) Verification,
3. Volunteer Handbook Receipt, and
4. Confidentiality of Records Agreement
